How is it calculated?
Gross revenue = sale price + shipping the customer pays. Net revenue = gross revenue ÷ (1 + VAT rate).
Payment fee = gross revenue × percentage + fixed amount. Platform fee = gross revenue × percentage.
Returns, pro rata = return rate × cost per return.
Contribution margin = net revenue − purchase price − shipping cost − packaging − fees − returns. Margin = contribution margin ÷ net revenue.
Break‑even ROAS = gross revenue ÷ contribution margin. ROAS means revenue per €1 of ads.
FormulaContribution margin = net revenue − purchase − shipping − packaging − payment − platform − returns
Example (made‑up values)
- €49.90 + €4.90 shipping, 19%, purchase €18.00, shipping €5.49, packaging €0.60, 2.49% + €0.35, returns 10% × €6.00 → net revenue €46.05, contribution margin €19.65, margin 42.7%, break‑even ROAS 2.79
