5 topics that often come up when selling on eBay

Each topic is based on the platform’s own documentation; the source is under each card.

  1. Transaction defect rate above 2%

    Why it matters
A seller whose defective transactions exceed 2% drops to the ‘Unterdurchschnittlich’ (below standard) level. The evaluation happens on the 20th of every month.
    What we do
We track the transactions that count as defects during the month and write to you with the reason before the level evaluation.

  2. Cases the seller didn’t resolve pile up

    Why it matters
Cases closed without the seller resolving them must not exceed 2 (or 0.3% of transactions).
    What we do
We tell you about new cases the day they open and write down what to do before eBay closes them.

  3. Many ‘not as described’ returns

    Why it matters
If the ‘Nicht wie beschrieben’ (not as described) rate is ‘sehr hoch’ (very high) compared with similar sellers, a different final value fee may apply.
    What we do
We pull the return reason for each product and fix the differences in descriptions, measurements and images.

  4. More ‘item not received’ reports

    Why it matters
If the ‘Artikel nicht erhalten’ (item not received) rate is ‘sehr hoch’ (very high), payouts from orders can be held for a while.
    What we do
We check tracking numbers and delivery times and spot late parcels before the buyer does.

  5. Listings missing product safety information

    Why it matters
Listings missing manufacturer details, the responsible person in the EU and safety warnings may not be shown to buyers in the EU.
    What we do
We add this information to the listings and agree with you on the responsible person in the EU for products made outside the EU.
